OPEN CHAT: Ball State-Eastern Michigan, Kent State-Bowling Green highlight full day of MAC Hoops

There are 5 games throughout the day today, with Ball State and Eastern Michigan tip off before noon

What's better than watching basketball while eating your breakfast?

That's what is on deck today, as Ball State and Eastern Michigan are the first game to tip off nation-wide at 11:30 from Ypsilanti. It may be the best match-up of the day, as both teams sit just one game from each other in the standings. The full schedule looks like this:

Away Home Time Streaming
Ball State Eastern Michigan 11:30 ESPN3
Kent State Bowling Green 4:00 ESPN3
Buffalo Western Michigan 4:30 ESPN3
Ohio Central Michigan 4:30 ESPN3
Miami Akron 7:00 GoZips.com

Kent State-Bowling Green is another one to watch. The Falcons sit just one game behind the Flashes in the East, but have lost the last two games at home. This is sort of a measuring stick game for BG - are they going to be able to compete with the contenders? Or are they still a rebuilding team, learning how to win big games?

Buffalo-Western Michigan is interesting in that you never really know what you'll get from both teams. Buffalo looked great in beating Kent State and Miami on the road but struggled against Eastern. The Broncos gave Northern Illinois their only conference loss of the season, but the Huskies were missing four rotation players due to ejection.

Ohio-Central Michigan will be an offensive shootout as both teams know how to score the ball. Both teams really need a win here, as a loss would drop them to 2-4 and multiple games behind the league leaders.

Miami surprisingly swept Akron last season, something the Zips likely won't forget. The RedHawks have struggled severely this year and have yet to win a game in the conference. The had Ball State on the ropes last weekend, but gave up a large second-half lead which turned into another loss. Akron is struggling too, but a home date against the worst team in the conference should provide for some positive momentum.
