2016-17 MAC Men’s Basketball Live Thread: December 7

Five games on tap at 7 p.m., including a tussle with an ACC power.

We’ve got a busy Wednesday night in #MACsketball land as we have five games that include a pair of must-see match-ups. The Buffalo Bulls head south to square off against the Pittsburgh Panthers as both teams look to get rolling in non-conference play. The Bulls are going to have to find a way to stop Pitt’s Michael Young as he has asserted himself in the young season with an average of 23 points and eight rebounds per game.

Meanwhile, the Western Michigan Broncos have big showdown of their own with a road test at Cleveland State. The Vikings aren’t your CSU team of old with a 2-5 start this season, but the tandem of Rob Edwards and Demonte Flannigan have proven to be effective on the offensive end with 29.8 ppg between them.

A trio of home games round out the #MACtion this evening as the Kent State Golden Flashes host Niagara, the Toledo Rockets welcome Detroit, and the Akron Zips cordially invite Coppin State for a game. All of the road teams had encounters with the MAC before, as Niagara fell 76-66 to UB, Detroit lost 87-61 to the Eastern Michigan Eagles, and CSU dropped a close one against the Ball State Cardinals 79-77.

With all these games on deck tonight, there’s no better time than now to kick back and enjoy some shooty hoops. We’re looking forward to joining you in the comments below!
