Back-to-back MAC champions Buffalo Bulls were selected as a 14-seed, and will face the Miami Hurricanes in the South region, where Kansas is the top-seeded team.
Under first year head coach Nate Oats, the Bulls grabbed a 20-14 record after finishing the regular season going 5-5 in their last ten games, the Bulls entered the MAC Tournament as a 3-seed to receive a first round bye and win it all with wins over Miami, Ohio and Akron.
Buffalo's offense is trending upwards, highlighted with their tournament play. For the year, Buffalo averages 77.6 points per game, but averaged 82 ppg through the tournament run, with huge performances from a lot of their star players, especially MAC Tournament MVP Willie Conner.
Last year, the Bulls were a 12-seed when they had a 23-9 record.
They'll face the Miami Hurricanes on Thursday in Providence, Rhode Island. The Hurricanes, 25-7, lost to Virginia in the ACC semifinals. The Canes are led by Second Team All-ACC selection Sheldon McClellan, who leads the team with 15.8 ppg and 32 steals, and makes nearly 40 percent of his 3-point shots.
