2016-17 MAC Men’s Basketball Live Thread: January 21

Five games on the docket today as the plot thickens.

NCAA Basketball: Buffalo at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

We have a great Saturday slate of #MACsketball today as we have five games on deck, starting with the Miami RedHawks making the trek up north to take on the Central Michigan Chippewas at 1:30 p.m. These are two teams who are looking to get off the schneid in conference play, and the game will feature some great guard play with Marcus Keene and Michael Weathers taking the court this afternoon. Next, the Bowling Green Falcons will host the Ball State Cardinals at 2:30 p.m. as BG would like to leave the MAC cellar, but has a tough road to hoe against a solid BSU squad.

Next, we have a pair of games at 3:30 p.m as the Western Michigan Broncos travel to take on the Buffalo Bulls and the Northern Illinois Huskies invite the Ohio Bobcats to DeKalb. WMU and UB should make for an interesting match-up that has the potential to be a lot of fun to watch, while the latter has big MAC implications as NIU is playing as well as anyone in the league right now and Ohio will be hurting with the loss of Antonio Campbell.

To cap off our evening of shooty hoops, the Kent State Golden Flashes host the Toledo Rockets at 7 p.m. in what should be a very good game that could be decided late. The Rockets have been very good in MAC play so far, and KSU desperately needs a win to start building some momentum for the MAC Tournament. With another good slate of games, it’s time to hop down in the comments below and discuss all things #MACtion on this day of college hoops.
