Another big day of #MACsketball is on deck for today as we’ve got four game that will all stream on ESPN3, starting with the Bowling Green Falcons heading west to take on the Ball State Cardinals at 1 p.m. Both teams are searching for their first MAC win of the season after tough losses to Akron and Kent State respectively. It should be an entertaining match-up as BGSU had all five starters score in double figures against the Zips, while the Cardinals have been on fire from long range with a 38.3 shooting percentage from three-point land.
At 2:30 p.m., the Buffalo Bulls look to right the ship on the road against the soaring Eastern Michigan Eagles as UB is looking for answers after losing six of their last eight games. The Eagles present a big challenge to the Bulls after containing the hottest player in the country in Marcus Keene in EMU’s 85-64 win over the Central Michigan Chippewas. Expect a more spirited effort by Buffalo as it needs a win today to stop the bleeding.
The contest between the Miami RedHawks and the Toledo Rockets ought to be a fun one at 4 p.m. as both picked up big wins in their MAC openers over the Northern Illinois Huskies and Buffalo respectively. The game will feature some of the MAC’s best as Miami’ Michael Weathers is third in the league in scoring while UT’s Jonathan Williams and Steve Taylor Jr. combine for 35.7 points per game.
We close with a pivotal MAC West battle at 4:30 p.m. as the Chips travel south for a meeting with the Huskies in a battle of winless teams in the MAC. Keene looks to get back on a roll against a very tough NIU squad that features some talented players in Marin Maric and Aaric Armstead with 24.1 points per game between them.
With all these good games on deck for today, it’s a good day to stay inside out of the weather and talk about all the #MACtion in the comments!
