Toledo Rockets at Eastern Michigan in Pictures

It was actually pretty rocking at the Convocation Center tonight
Kenneth Bailey

When I wrote up my season preview for the Eagles, I was thinking that they would be making some noise in the MAC. With three seniors and two pretty exciting other starters from last year, I thought they would find themselves in a position with a first round bye. After starting MAC play at 4 and 1, I was feeling like my thoughts were being confirmed.

After losses at Akron and Ball State, they beat Miami pretty soundly and I thought that maybe they had righted the ship. Then they went on a seven game losing streak. That pretty much ended any hopes of a first round bye.

With the pretty sound beatings of Northern Illinois and Central Michigan, I thought the Eagles were in a pretty good shape to beat Toledo and secure home court for the first MAC Tournament game. I was a little bummed to see them in the position of having to win a game in order to have a chance to play at home one more time. It seems like that has been the them since I started photographing at Eastern Michigan games.

After a pretty back and forth first half, it looked like Eastern Michigan was going to beat Toledo and secure that home game. They managed to continue it into the second half but then Toledo got a tiny lead that they managed to hold. Fortunately, Bowling Green and Northern Illinois lost which means that Eastern Michigan’s first game will be in Ypsilanti.

Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
