Players to Watch
Demajeo Wiggins, BGSU - Wiggins, the 6-10 forward, has scored 10+ points in 11 games this season, including the last four - in which he’s shooting 55.2% and averaging a double-double (14.25 points per game and 10 rebounds).
Justin Turner, BGSU - Turner is the Falcons leader in points per game (16.2) and minutes per game (33.4). The freshman guard has scored double digits in NINE straight games. As of late he has struggled from behind the arc, shooting just 3-19 (15.8%) in the past five games.
Eugene German, NIU - German, a sophomore guard, is the main attraction in NIU’s offense. He’s the only player to hit double digits in points in every game this season and he’s had 20+ points in eight of their 15 games. Look for the offense to revolve around his play.
Levi Bradley, NIU - The Huskies other guard has been on fire as of late. He’s notched two double-doubles in the past four games and has scored 14+ points in eight contests this year.
Prediction
The Falcons should be able to handle the Huskies in this one, but it might be closer than many think. NIU is a scrappy team that doesn’t make it easy on opponents but BGSU’s offense should have enough depth and fire-power to outlast the more defensive-minded Huskies.
