The Central Michigan Chippewas (14-8, 3-6 MAC) head to Athens, Ohio to face the Ohio University Bobcats (9-12, 2-7 MAC).
After starting the season very strong (11-2 before MAC play began), CMU has won just two of their last eight games. It hasn’t been any better for Ohio, who has won just two of their last nine contests and sits dead last in the MAC.

Players to Watch
Cecil Williams, F, CMU - Williams continues to be one of the most versatile players for the Chips, averaging 14.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game...which is best for second on the team in every category.
Luke Meyer, F, CMU - Meyer hasn’t gotten the attention that Williams, Shawn Roundtree, or David DiLeo has gotten but he’s been a quiet, consistent player. Meyer is shooting a team-leading 56.6% from the floor (min 10 shot attempts) and averages just under 10 points per game. Look for him to have yet another solid, albeit quiet, game.
Gavin Block, G, Ohio - Block plays a lot of minutes for the Bobcats (32.7 per game) but hasn’t had the season he was hoping for, shooting just 35.2% from the field. However, he’s still putting up solid numbers (8.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game). The offense might not revolve around him but he’ll be a huge help for the Cats in this one.
Teyvion Kirk, G, Ohio - Ohio’s offense does, however, revolve around Kirk; the teams leading scorer with 14.8 points per game. In the last three contests, Kirk is averaging 18 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
For as much as Ohio and CMU have struggled this season, one of these teams will have to win. I’m picking Ohio to upset the Chips and end their three game losing streak.
The game will be a close, low-scoring affair, as both teams struggle to find buckets but a few late points from Kirk and Mike Laster will propel the Bobcats over the Chips.
CMU Chippewas - 73
Ohio Bobcats - 77
