On Sunday, P.J. Fleck, and the Western Michigan football squad picked up their 25th verbal commitment of the 2015 recruiting class. LeVante Bellamy, a shifty 5-foot-9 170-pound athlete from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, picked the Broncos over a list of scholarship offers which included Ball State, Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Middle Tennessee State, Ohio, and Toledo.
Rushing for well over 3,000 yards, and 50 touchdowns during his high school career, LeVante will make the switch from running back to slot receiver once he officially joins Western Michigan next season.
A threat to score every time the ball is in his hands, Bellamy, who ran a 4.39 second 40 yard dash at the Nike Football Training Camp in Chicago earlier this year, should help the Broncos open the playbook up in a matter of different ways over the next few years with trick plays at receiver, and even out of the backfield.
According to 247Sports, he is currently the 13th wide receiver, and 499th overall prospect in the class of 2015. A three-star prospect, Bellamy isn't just one of the highest ranked recruits to commit to Western Michigan so far this recruitng cycle, but the entire Mid-American Conference.
