2015 Ohio Football Recruiting: LB Evan Croutch Talks Commitment To Bobcats

The former Youngstown State commit will add more depth to the OU defense.

After Evan Croutch took a visit to Ohio University last month for the Bobcats' match up against the Northern Illinois Huskies, it only took the class of 2015 linebacker a few hours to flip his verbal commitment from his home town Penguins of Youngstown State to the green, and white of Ohio.

"I love the football staff at OU. Coach (Frank) Solich is a great coach, and has been for a long time. Also it is a great campus, and has great academics." The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Croutch stated to Hustle Belt as to why he decided Ohio was the right place for him to continue his education, and playing days.

It wasn't easy for Evan to switch his verbal commitment from Youngstown State to the Bobcats, but after thinking it over the under-the-radar senior prospect came to the conclusion that Ohio was the place he needed to be.

"It was a difficult decision, but I felt it was the best decision for my future. (When I think of the future) I think of a really tough, hard working team that wins MAC Championships."

Throughout his time at Youngstown Boardman, Crouch has been one of the most consistent players for the Spartans, and leaves ranked amongst the best to ever play for the school. Snatching up 223 career tackles, Croutch is fifth on Boardman's all-time list.
