2015 Eastern Michigan Recruiting: DE Hunter Andrews Commits to EMU

Recruiting-wise, Eastern Michigan is off to a much better start than they were last year. Receiving their seventh commit, Hunter Andrews talks about his decision.

Hunter Andrews, a lengthy, 6-foot-4 defensive end from Lapeer, Michigan, committed to Eastern Michigan on July 4, 2014. Andrews never walked around Eastern Michigan's campus, but after attending one of their camps and talking to the coaches, he told Hustle Belt that it didn't take any longer than a week for him to make his mind up.

"I met [all of the coaches] and I can tell that [Chris] Creighton is a really great guy" Andrews said. "I can tell that all of the coaches really care for you and they want to help you get better as a person and as a player. You can tell that there's just a really good vibe going on there and want to turn everything around and that really stuck out to me."

It already seems like Andrews is already "E-Tough", said that the new gray field reflects his attitude on the field.

"My first thought was that it's pretty sweet," Andrews said. "I like how they like toughening up and saying that they want to play on concrete. I like that."

Eastern Michigan was the only school that offered Andrews, even though he has been recruited by more. "I can tell they were the first people who really looked at my film and i know they want to help me improve to reach my full potential," Andrews said. "That just really stood out to me and I'm just really happy about the offer and committing."

Kyle Rachwal, a freshman from Lapeer East High School, may have played a small role in this commitment, too. "I go to Lapeer (West) and he went to Lapeer East," Andrews said. "We're not really friends, but we know each other from playing football."
