2015 Northern Illinois Football Recruiting: S Herbert Miller Commits To The Huskies

Northern Illinois lands skilled safety from Hollywood, Florida.

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

Northern Illinois is slowly assembling another solid recruiting class. Coach Carey is proving that he can thrive on the recruiting trail in just his second year as head coach.

Herbert Miller announced his commitment via his Twitter on Friday night. By landing this safety, the Huskies are adding a skilled player who has all the tools to be successful. At 6-foot-2, Miller possesses ideal height for a safety. Miller's ideal height and ball skills have not gone unnoticed as he held offers from Cincinnati, Florida Atlantic, Georgia State, Mississippi State, and UAB. Miller was committed to Florida Atlantic at one point.

This ball hawking safety, attends Miramar High School with another Northern Illinois commitment, Jeff Hill Jr. The Huskies have been recruiting the state of Florida extremely hard lately as three of their 2015 commitments so far have come from the Sunshine State.

For the Huskies to beat out a SEC school for a recruit has to be considered a huge win for the Huskies. It will be interesting to see if the Huskies can maintain this momentum and move up in our MAC recruiting power rankings next month.
