Cornerback Davontae Ginwright chooses Western Michigan over fellow MAC schools, Akron and Toledo.

Student Sports

Western Michigan has been recruiting at an amazing pace recently, however they have had a tough time getting corner backs to commit to the Broncos. Cornerback Davontae Ginwright recently filled a huge need for Western Michigan's 2015 recruiting class being just their 2nd cornerback to sign out of a group of 17 verbal commitments.

Davontae Ginwright is rated 3-stars by 247Sports and also a top 20 recruit in the state of Michigan. Ginwright, a 6-foot-3 185 pound cornerback, chose Western Michigan over offers from Akron and Toledo.  Recently, it seems that Western Michigan and Toledo have been battling it out for multiple recruits and Western Michigan was the winner of this recruiting battle.

Ginwright is a ball-hawking cornerback who displays great awareness on defense. He is not only known for his hard hitting skills but also for intercepting passes in traffic. At 6-foot-3, Ginwright is the ideal height for a conerback at the collegiate level.

The Broncos have been a fun team to follow during this recruiting cycle and Ginwright is just another great addition. In case you don't believe me, check out his Hudl highlights below:
