Looking back on every recruiting class there always are one or two players who go under-the-radar and only have one or two offers but wind up making a major impact in college. Looking back on that recruiting class everyone says, "Why didn't we recruit this guy?" Well, LaMarr Davis has the potential to be one of those overlooked recruits from the 2015 recruiting class who proves everyone wrong.
LaMarr Davis is a large man, standing at 6-foot-2 and 285 pounds he will be a tough guy to block for his opponents. Davis may not be a highly touted recruit, however he is a quality under-the-radar defensive tackle with room to grow.
Although Toledo was his only offer, Davis was garnering plenty of interest from Akron, Bowling Green, Indiana, Kent State, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Missouri. Davis seems to be a perfect fit for the Rockets and Coach Campbell has to be pleased in gaining a verbal commitment from someone with such great potential.
Davis also plays offensive line at Benedictine High School located in Cleveland, Ohio, however it seems he will play defensive tackle while at Toledo since the Rockets already have six offensive lineman committed in this 2015 recruiting class alone.
Davis is relentless in his pursuit of the quarterback and even shows the ability to get to the edge and stop the outside run. Overall, Davis will need some work on his technique but he is a solid football player who will make impact plays while he is on the field.
