2015 Ball State Football Recruiting: DT Kenny Knight Commits To The Cardinals

The future is looking bright in Muncie.

As first reported by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, Pete Lembo, and the Ball State coaching staff have picked up a verbal commitment from another quality high school prospect.

Earlier today Kenny Knight, a two-star defensive tackle out of East Saint Louis, Illinois became the second class of 2015 prospect to give Lembo, and the Cardinals their word this month, joining Georgia defensive back Kendall Quarles.

Now up to 14 overall commitments for 2015, the 6-foot 1, and 265 pound Knight will add another quick, big bodied interior lineman to what should be a pretty stout Ball State defense over the next few seasons.

Playing alongside great players is something Kenny is more than use to doing. His teammate at East Saint Louis High School, and fellow lineman Terry Beckner Jr., is one of the highest ranked seniors in the country. While Beckner racked up well over 115 total tackles last season and scholarship offers from most of the notable teams in college football, Knight proved his counterpart wasn't the only Flyer lineman to deserve some Division I recognition.

Causing havoc in the backfield all season long, Knight finished his junior campaign with 90 total tackles, and three quarterback sacks for a 9-4 East Saint Louis squad last year.
