Dino Babers, and Bowling Green announced on Tuesday evening the addition of Matt Domer to its roster. Domer, a class of 2014 graduate of Mount Carmel High School in Hazel Crest, Illinois took this past season off from football to focus on academics at Parkland Community College (IL) after failing to qualify academically at the University of Illinois.
With grade problems behind him, the one time Fighting Illini commit is now enrolled at BGSU as a student, and is eligible to fully participate in all football activities this spring.
"We are excited to have Matt Domer join our football program here at BGSU." Coach Babers said of the newest Falcon in a press release. "He is an extremely hard working and talented individual that will fit in as a Falcon and provide talent and depth at the running back position."
Coming out of high school, the 6'0 180 pound Domer was one of the top backs in the Midwest. A three-star prospect, he held scholarship offers from not just Illinois, but also programs such as Cincinnati, Indiana, Kansas, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Syracuse.
A back-to-back state champion during his time at Mount Carmel, Matt finished off his last two years on the high school level with nearly 2,850 yards rushing, and 36 touchdowns.
