The week definitely started off on a good note for Chuck Martin and the Miami coaching staff. On Monday morning the RedHawks added a huge piece to what is already a solid 2016 recruiting class.
Reportedly receiving scholarship offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, and Western Michigan during the process, three-star offensive tackle Trent Maynard announced via his Twitter page that he will continue his football career and education in Oxford.
"Miami is a very special place. I love the program and the rich history it has. The coaching staff there is new and they're making huge strides already. It's not far away but it's not too close to home either. The academics there are outstanding. There is nothing bad at all with Miami. It's the perfect fit for me and I want to bring back greatness with the program." The 6'6, 305-pound Indianapolis, Indiana native stated to Hustle Belt as a few of the many things that led him to choose the RedHawks.
Maynard, Miami's 23rd verbal commitment of the cycle, gives Martin and the RedHawks another highly rated prospect in the class. According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings the Decatur Central senior is currently considered the 86th offensive tackle, and 924th overall recruit in the class of 2016.
