Ball State had a tough season defensively, and in order to fix that, it is going to take some size up front. Ball State fans, welcome John Swisher to the fold. This 2016 Class for Lembo is already rated in the top five of the MAC, and adding players like Swisher who have the potential to have a big impact on the defensive side of the ball is always good.
After an careful consideration and a long process I am proud to say I am committing to Ball State University ⚪️ pic.twitter.com/VPSpfKLonQ

Swisher has made the decision to commit to the Cardinals less than a week after receiving an offer from the Cardinal staff. He chose the Cardinals over other offers from Charlotte and Northern Iowa as well as interest from several Group of Five schools and FCS schools, respectively. Swisher spent this past season at Iowa Western C.C., and was recently named an honorable mention JUCO All-American, according to NJCAA.
Swisher is a big, tough defensive tackle (6-foot-2, 280 pounds) and his film shows just a glimpse of his variety of moves. For a team that has been recruiting well the past years, Swisher is expected to make the most of his limited eligibility both on the field and in the classroom.
