Following in the footsteps of Berea-Midpark (OH) linebacker Joe Bachie, and others, class of 2016 wide receiver Kalebb Perry committed to Western Michigan earlier this week.
A three-star prospect from Mt. Pleasant Senior High, P.J. Fleck, and the Western Michigan coaching staff plucked the 6'3 180 pound, Perry right out of Central Michigan's back yard. Currently the sixth member of the Broncos class of 2016, he was considering scholarship offers from CMU, Buffalo, and Miami before giving WMU his verbal pledge on Tuesday afternoon.
Accounting for over 1,200 all purpose yards, and 20 total touchdowns as junior, Perry helped lead the Oilers to a 7-4 season in 2014.
Not just a standout on the football field, Perry is also one of the top performers on the Mt. Pleasant basketball, and track and field teams. Earlier this season on the hardwood, Perry used his size, and speed to score 40 points in a contest against Saginaw Heritage. As a freshman, Perry broke a 31 year school record in the high jump with an impressive 6-foot 7 1/2 leap.
With almost a year to go until national signing day, Perry's commitment currently has the Broncos class of 2016 sitting at 23rd on the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings.
