After signing a pretty stellar class of 2015 prospects last month, the Toledo Rockets are finally on the recruiting board for 2016. On Saturday evening Jeffery Pooler of Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton, Ohio became the first soon-to-be senior recruit to give Matt Campbell, and the UT coaching staff a verbal pledge.
"They are truthful, and not forceful about anything. It's close to home, and I have a chance to play early. They want me to be an immediate impact as a three technique or even strong side defensive end. " Pooler stated to Hustle Belt as a few of the reasons why he decided to accept Toledo's scholarship offer after receiving it on Valentines Day last month.
The 6'4 270 pound Pooler isn't the only one thrilled over his commitment to the Rockets, so are the Toledo coaching staff.
"I tired calling Coach Campbell, but he was at the basketball game so I called, and committed to Coach (Eli) Rasheed. He was fired up. He tweeted CGA just got stronger, which is the defensive line name "Chain Gang Association". Then Coach Campbell left the game, and I called him. He was really excited."
An under-the-radar prospect, Toledo was the only scholarship offer on the table for Pooler. Even though he might not have had dozens of scholarship offers under his belt he was receiving interest from many programs including Mid-American Conference schools such as Miami, and Ohio.
