2016 Toledo Football Recruiting: ATH Billy Kisner and RB Ronnie Jones commit to Rockets

Toledo landed two recruits last week for the class of 2016.

Shortly after DL Jeffrey Pooler decided to reopen his recruitment after being committed to the Rockets, Toledo picked up two more verbal commitments from RB Ronnie Jones and ATH Billy Kisner.

Both Jones and Kisner currently reside in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jones chose the Rockets over reported offers from Fordham and Kent State while Kisner held reported offers from Albany and James Madison.

Jones currently attends Central Catholic High School while Kisner is attending Penn Hills High School. The Rockets have hit the Pittsburgh area hard this year as they now have three commitments from the area, TE Nate Swart being the third.

Jones is an explosive back who is currently ranked a 2-star recruit by 247Sports as well as the 92nd running back in the class of 2016. Shortly after Jones committed to Toledo he caught up with Hustle Belt to tell us why he chose Toledo.

"It was really the coaching staff, they made me feel like they just weren't in for me because of the name but on what I could really do on the field. It's also a great school to study business."

Kisner, on the other hand, currently plays quarterback, safety, and wide receiver in high school. At 5-foot-10 160 pounds, it will be tough for him to continue playing quarterback. However, it is extremely valuable to have a player on the roster with quarterback experience in case of emergency. Toledo learned this first hand last year when all their scholarship quarterbacks went down with injury and wide receiver Dwight Macon was forced into action at quarterback in a rivalry game against Northern Illinois.

Kisner is ranked a 2-star recruit by 247Sports and is seen as a top 100 athlete in the class of 2016.
