2016 Ball State Football Recruiting: TE Dylan Koch commits to Cardinals

Coach Lembo and company get their first commit for the 2016 class.

Ball State Athletics

After a strong finish to the 2015 class, Coach Pete Lembo and the rest of the Ball State staff have started off the 2016 class with a commitment from TE Dylan Koch on Monday night. Koch announced his decision on his Twitter.

Koch, a physical 6-foot-5 tight end listed at 225 pounds, Committed to the Cardinals exactly one month after visiting the campus in Muncie, Indiana. He committed to the Cardinals over reported interest from nearby Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, and Boston College among others. Just hours after his commitment, Koch received his second offer from Wyoming.

Currently a 2-star recruit, Koch is a physical downfield tight end who looks for contact, and will never miss a chance to hit someone, which makes sense considering the fact that currently he also plays defensive end for Plainfield East HS currently. Koch also shows natural catching ability when given the opportunity to catch the ball, and above-average speed with the ball in his hands.

247Sports has Koch ranked as a top-40 prospect in the state of Indiana as well as a top-75 tight end overall. Look for Koch to rise in the rankings and add several more offers as the summer months go by and teams are able to look at his film.
