2016 Buffalo Football Recruiting: Bulls have busy night on recruiting trail, offers four quarterbacks

Coach Leipold and his staff are hitting the recruiting trail hard this week.

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Buffalo's staff is spread out across the country looking for its next superstar. New head coach Lance Leipold is hoping their hard work will pay off in the long run. Here's a list of the recruits who were offered by Leipold and his staff within the past 48 hours.

QB Jake Sopko-Avon, Ohio (Avon)

The 6-foot-3 200 pound quarterback currently lists one other offer from Cincinnati and is unranked by the three major recruiting sites. Many feel that Cincinnati is the school to beat, however that could change now with multiple offers in hand. Sopko is listed as a pro-style quarterback who threw for 2,879 yards and 24 touchdowns to go with six interceptions as a junior. His performance on the field was good enough to earn him AP-All Ohio, All District, and All-Conference honors.

QB Tahj Tolbert-Buford, Georgia (Lanier)

Tolbert is a completely different type of quarterback than Sopko as Tolbert relies on his quickness and elusiveness to make big plays. Tolbert doesn't shy away from contact, and throws the deep ball surprisingly well for a guy with his speed. The 6-foot-5 205 pound quarterback currently lists offers from Florida A&M and Norfolk State. Tolbert should be in line for another solid senior campaign and if he does, the recognition should follow.

TE/DE Chris Stanford-Harrison City, Pennsyvania (Penn Trafford)

Buffalo is reportedly the sixth school to offer the 6-foot-4 270 pound athlete, the others being EMU, Ohio, Old Dominion, Duquesne, and Robert Morris. Shortly after receiving his offer, Hustle Belt caught up with Stanford to find out which schools he is planning on visiting over the next few weeks.

"I (already) visited ODU and Duquesne, going to visit Ohio on May 31st and RMU on May 30th."

Despite not having a visit to Buffalo set, don't be surprised if Stanford stops by at some point during the summer. Stanford is being recruited by the Bulls as a defensive end and in my opinion is an ideal fit in Buffalo's defensive scheme who would be a great addition for coach Leipold and his staff.

Don't want to take my word for it? Check out his highlights courtesy of Hudl:

LB Devin Miller-Buford, Georgia (Lanier)

High school teammates with Tahj Tolbert, LB Devin MIller currently lists offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, Liberty, Marshall, South Alabama, and South Florida. The 6-foot 200 pound linebacker tallied 86 totals tackles, 20 tackles for loss, to go with four sacks as a junior. Miller is currently rated a 2-star recruit by Rivals.com who could see his stock rise even higher with a strong showing at various summer camps.

OG/C Alex Mollette-Suwanee, Georgia (North Gwinnett)

The 6-foot-3 275 pound offensive lineman currently reports nine other offers, two of which are FBS schools: Arkansas State and Georgia State. Mollette is rated 2-stars by Rivals.com and is yet another recruit from the state of Georgia. Defensive line coach Tim Edwards has been recruiting the state extremely hard this week as it is clear these recruits are a major priority for the Bulls' coaching staff.

LB Soloman Manning-Colonia, New Jersey (Colonia)

Manning is currently rated a 3-star recruit by 247Sports Composite as well as a top 30 outside linebacker in the country. The 6-foot-2 200 pound recruit currently lists offers from Army, Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse. Manning was a tackle machine during his junior year, compiling 100 tackles to go with five sacks, one interception, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Beating out Pitt and Syracuse would be a huge win for Buffalo on the recruiting trail especially since those schools are known for poaching recruits verbally committed to play at MAC schools.

QB/ATH Eddie Hahn-Red Bank, New Jersey (Red Bank Catholic)

Yet another 3-star quarterback for Buffalo. Eddie Hahn currently lists offers from Bucknell, Colgate, UConn, Monmouth, NC State, Temple, and Yale. Although Hahn is listed as an athlete on a few recruiting sites, I get the sense that Buffalo is recruiting him for quarterback. Despite not having the big arm that some of the other quarterbacks possess, Hahn makes up for it with short, precise passes along with an innate ability to create plays on the run.

Check out Hahn's highlights courtesy of Hudl below:

QB Anthony Russo-Warminster, Pennsylvania (Archbishop Wood Catholic)

Last but certainly not least is QB Anthony Russo. Russo currently lists offers from Bucknell, UConn, Monmouth, Rutgers, Temple, and Towson. Russo may just be the best quarterback out of an extremely talented group of Buffalo QB offerees. The 6-foot-4 221 pound QB possesses pinpoint accuracy and is a nightmare for opposing defenses. Russo announced the news of his Buffalo on his Twitter page on Tuesday afternoon
