2016 Bowling Green Football Recruiting: 3-star Elijah Cunningham talks commitment to the Falcons

The Falcons are recruiting at a high level thus far.

Dino Babers is on fire as of late. The second year head coach already has four verbal commitments for the class of 2016, the most recent one being 3-star quarterback Elijah Cunningham.

Cunningham chose the Falcons over reported offers from Akron(who just picked up a 2016 QB as well) , Cincinnati, and Miami. Shortly after his commitment, we caught up with him to find out why he chose BG.

"The biggest thing was their honesty. They knew I was a guy that fit them offensively and didn't play games when it came to offering me. It gave me a chance to visit a couple of times and find out that BG is right for me as well...BGSU wanted me leading their team and knew they did when they first saw me throw. "

However, that was not the only reason Cunningham decided to become Falcon Fast. Cunningham summed it up succinctly when he stated, "They win football games."

After thinking things over, Cunningham ultimately decided that Bowling Green was the best place for him and was excited to let the coaching staff know.

"I first called Coach Lewis and let him know that I was ready to be a Falcon, he was just as excited as I was."

Cunningham has a quick release which should help him adjust at the next level, solid moving around the pocket, as well as throwing on the run.

Although Bowling Green has multiple talented quarterbacks on the roster, Cunningham is the type of player who will compete the moment he steps on campus. Three years down the line, Cunningham could be a vital aspect to Bowling Green's MAC Championship hopes.
