Western Michigan landed their 16th commitment for their 2016 recruiting class. The Broncos have been extremely active on the recruiting trail this month as they landed a big time commitment from 3-star LB Eric Rogers.
This time the Broncos have landed under-the-radar offensive lineman Mark Brooks from Portland, Michigan. Western Michigan is the only program to offer Brooks to despite being dubbed a "sleeper" by Scout's Allen Trieu.
Brooks currently plays both offensive tackle and defensive end for Portland High School, however he projects to line up on the offensive line at WMU. At 6-foot-7 260 pounds, Brooks has a nice frame to grow into that should add depth to WMU's offensive line once he steps on campus. Brooks seems like a prime redshirt candidate as is pretty common for offensive lineman, however look for him to compete from day one.
Brooks is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to Fleck's 2016 recruiting class. Spencer Kanz definitely highlights this group of talented lineman while Mike Caliendo, Jordan Asbury, as well as Brooks look to have nice potential in the long run.
