2016 Toledo Football Recruiting: DE John Hunter Commits To Rockets

The Rockets add another talented prospect to the class of 2016.

Matt Campbell, and the Toledo coaching staff landed their ninth verbal pledge of the 2016 cycle on Friday morning when under-the-radar defensive end John "Baer" Hunter decided to end his recruitment and soar with the Rockets.

"The commitment went down on over the phone with head coach Campbell, and then I broke the news to defensive line coach (Eli) Rasheed. I felt in the end that Coach Campbell and the Rockets had the best program for me academically and football wise. Further, my entire extended family is close by in Michigan and Ohio and I always felt that Ohio has always been home for me." The newest Rocket commit stated to Hustle Belt after announcing his college plans.

Bowling Green, Miami, Army, Navy, and James Madison are just a few of the programs to offer the 6'3 240-pound Hunter during the recruiting process.

Lining up on the edge for West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, North Carolina last season, Hunter helped lead the Titans to an overall record of 9-3 and a state playoff berth.
