2016 Miami Football Recruiting: LB Myles Reid commits to the RedHawks

Atlanta produces the RedHawks' newest commit.

This past weekend was a very busy and productive one for the MAC.  Miami jumped in on the action as hybrid linebacker Myles Reid announced his commitment to Miami on Twitter this past Saturday morning.  Reid is rated as a two-star prospect from Mays High School in Atlanta, Georgia, per 247 sports.  The 6-foot-1 200 pound hybrid linebacker chose Miami over reported offers from Colorado State, Western Kentucky, Georgia Southern, Middle Tennessee State, Troy, and Mercer.

"I chose Miami because of the combo of athletics and academics," Reid told Hustle Belt. "They really wanted me and I know we will WIN.  Coach Martin and coach [Pawlowski] were very honest with me.  The place is beautiful and I can see myself there the next four to five years."

The bone-crushing hybrid linebacker will be a key part of the RedHawks' defense in the future.  The RedHawks' defense struggled in 2014 and was ranked tenth in the MAC.  Reid joins fellow 2016 commits Travion Banks and Cameron Turner in the RedHawks' linebacking core and secondary.  These three highly-touted prospects give RedHawks fans hope for a bright future to the program.
