La Porte High School middle linebacker Matt Otwinowski announced his commitment to the Golden Flashes Wednesday morning through his Twitter account.  The Indiana native reportedly held an offer from Air Force, but decided to accept his offer from Kent State.

The 6-foot-3 220 pound middle linebacker was kind enough to explain to Hustle Belt why he felt Kent State was the right place for him.  "Kent State's Wheel of Life philosophy, the coaching staff, and the confidence they have in me,and their stress of academic importance (made me commit to Kent State)."

Otwinowski also listed some of the goals he hopes to accomplish at Kent State.  "I will give my all to Kent State, and I will let my work ethic and leadership determine my future with them."

Kent State will really look to Matt Otwinowski to help out with the Golden Flashes' rushing defense.  Kent State finished second to last in rushing defense in the MAC in 2014, allowing 214 rushing yards per game.  Hopefully Otwinowski will help the Golden Flashes change their trend from 2014.
