The Huskies have been in the headlines often in the past few days with their new recruits, and today was no different. Offensive lineman Benn Olson decided to commit to the Huskies today. The two-star prospect, according to 247Sports, accepted Northern Illinois' offer over other reported offers from South Dakota, South Dakota State, Montana and Valparaiso.

Olson explained why Northern Illinois was the place for him. "It was kind of a no-brainer," he said. "It just felt right, and I liked the coaching staff. It was a great fit."
He also eluded to some goals he hopes to accomplish at Northern Illinois. "Personally, I'd like to receive a degree from NIU. As a team, I want to play in multiple bowl games during my time there."
The offensive lineman from Burnsville Senior High School in Burnsville, Minnesota is the Huskies' third offensive lineman commit for the 2016 class, along with Ezekiel Gueths and Austin Warner. The Huskies will look to these lineman to help in their option reads and protection of 2016 quarterback commit Anthony Thompson.
