This safety had nine offers, seven from MAC schools.

The Toledo Rockets picked up a really hot target with free safety Jatairis Grant announcing his commitment via Twitter. Grant is a 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect from Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio.

"The coaches were all like family up there," Grant recently told Hustle Belt. "They show you love. When you need them, they're always there."

The Rockets were the first team to offer Grant back in February, he said. Grant had nine offers in total, seven from the MAC: Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Cincinnati, James Madison, Kent State, Miami ,Ohio and Toledo. "I've got a great relationship with coach [Matt] Campbell," Grant adds, "I call and talk to him about once or twice a week just to talk about anything."

Grant has also become good friends with one of Toledo's 2015 signees, offensive lineman Bryce Harris, since the recruiting process began.

A two-star prospect, Grant is committed as a safety, but is athletic and mobile enough to play other skilled positions. His speed and play to the ball are great qualities to have as both a defensive back and wide receiver. Grant says that it's his "football sense" and quick field recognition that puts him over the top.

Grant's a a really good pickup for head coach Matt Campbell, as well as a fun watch on film. Check out his highlights courtesy of Hudl:
