Miami fans have had every right to be cheering over the past week, and today is no different. Wide receiver Jack Sorenson of Adlai Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois announced his commitment to the RedHawks this afternoon on Twitter. Sorenson reportedly held other offers from Ball State, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Cornell, Dartmouth, Air Force, Army, and Penn before he accepted Miami's offer. Sorenson is rated as a two-star prospect, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

Hustle Belt was able to catch up with Miami's newest recruit to understand why Miami was the place for him. "The coaches were so brutally honest...[Coach Martin] really wants me on his team, but he's not going to kill himself over me...He told me that they really wanted me and they're going to recruit the heck out of me, and at the end of the end day if they don't get me, they're going to get somebody just like me."
The 6-foot-1 185 pound wide receiver also talked about how he hopes to be remembered in a Miami uniform. "Miami right now isn't the best team in the MAC right now. I want to leave a legacy at that school, but I want to be that class that when they remember Miami athletics, they remember me and my class, as opposed to a bigger school..."
Sorenson is no stranger to winning. During his high school career at Aldai Stevenson, they won the class 8A state championship in Illinois. He described winning as "contagious" and hopes to continue his past trend of winning at Miami.
Sorenson is Miami's 20th commit of the 2016 class and the fourth wide receiver, joining fellow 2016 commits Stori Emerson, KJ Hancock, and DeAndre Huff. These new wide receiver commits will look to hold the 278 receiving yards per game that Miami tallied during the 2014 season.
