2016 Ball State Football Recruiting: DE James Jennette commits to the Cardinals

Coach Pete Lembo received a huge commitment to his 2016 class.

Numerous reports broke the news that defensive end James Jennette committed Wednesday.  Today, a source confirmed it was true.  Jennette is listed as a three-star football commit, according to Rivals and is listed at 6-feet-4 inches tall and 215 pounds.  Jennette reportedly also held offers from Kansas State, Toledo, Maryland, Toledo, Wyoming, and New Mexico, according to Rivals.

Jennette was consistently in the backfield against his opponents at Hazelwood West High School in Hazelwood, Missouri.  This area is no stranger to MAC football.  Current Miami (OH) commit Cameron turner attended Hazelwood East High School.

The Cardinals' 16th commit should be a nice fit for the Cardinals' defense.  While Ball State prides itself on allowing only twelve sacks in 2014, they only recorded 16 on the defensive side of the ball.  Jennette's presence is much needed for the Cardinals' defense and they hope he will be able to contribute immediately.  Jennette joins fellow 2016 defensive line commits Frank Burton, Donald Manning, Chris Crumb, and Kyle Williams.  The group Ball State has recruited is a bright future for the Cardinals' defense.
