2016 Toledo Football Recruiting: TE Keidren Davis commits to the Rockets

Coach Matt Campbell gets his second tight end for his 2016 class.

Toledo recently received a commitment from a great athlete from Grand Rapids, Michigan.  Union High School's tight end Keidren Davis decided to accept the offer he had received from the Rockets, according to numerous reports.  While Davis also played some time as a defensive end, the consensus thought is that he will play tight end at Toledo.  The athletic tight end has also been recognized for his athleticism as a forward on the basketball court.  According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Davis is rated as a two-star prospect.

Davis brings another unique option to the Rockets' offense.  Standing at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, Davis' speed, jumping ability, and strength provides a great balance for the Rockets at the tight end position.  He will excel in the Rockets' red zone offense.  Toledo ranked second in the red-zone offense in the MAC in 2014, by scoring on 88.7 percent of their trips and tallying up 40 touchdowns.

Davis joins Nate Swart as Toledo's pair of tight ends for their 2016 recruiting class.  Davis is poised to make a name for himself in the future plans of Toledo, but will have to continue to put in hard work to excel at the next level.
