Jason Candle has been extremely successful on the recruiting trail since taking over the program. The Sunshine State has been a key to his success and has his program's future looking bright.
Most recently, 3-star defensive back Dedarallo Blue announced his commitment to the Rockets on Friday evening.

Shortly after this announcement, Blue caught up with Hustle Belt to discuss his decision.
"I have former teammates there. Well Toledo, I can't really say anything else about them, but I've been thinking about them all the time. The coaches are great. I feel that Toledo needs me to come in and make an impact immediately."
Blue is referring to high school teammates Aaron Covington and Diontae Johnson, members of Toledo's 2015 recruiting class, all of which he cited as a big reason that he chose the Rockets.

Another interesting tidbit about Blue is that he ultimately chose Toledo over reported offers from Iowa State and North Dakota State. The fact that Blue chose Toledo over Iowa State is huge for Candle and his staff. Toledo always had success on the recruiting trail during Matt Campbell's tenure, and it does not look like things will be changing under Jason Candle.
Candle and his staff seem to have recruited someone who is motivated to succeed at the next level. Blue actually has a few goals that he hopes to accomplish while at Toledo.
"Well, I want to do well in the classroom, start as a freshman, and just enjoy being part of the program."
By our count, Blue is Toledo's 21st commitment of the 2016 recruiting class and the fifth defensive back to join the fold.
