Otomewo chose the Broncos over reported offers from Iowa State, Illinois, Syracuse, Ball State, Bowling Green, Marshall, New Mexico, and Toledo. Otomewo currently attends Ben Davis high school located in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The 6-foot-6 210 pound defensive end is the second defensive end to commit to WMU. He is the 25th recruit to join coach Fleck’s 2017 recruiting class. Out of these 25 commits, 19 of them are rated 3-star recruits by 247Sports.
Otomewo could develop into an offensive lineman’s worst nightmare with his ability to shed blocks and clog up the backfield in a hurry. With all of the talent that Western Michigan has recruited in previous classes, it most likely will take a year or two for Otomewo to see the field, however he possess an extremely high ceiling especially on the MAC level. With that said, coach Fleck has shown no fear in playing freshman in the past so it isn’t out of the question that Otomewo see the field as a true freshman. Either way, the future is bright for this Indianapolis native.
