Multiple MAC Commits to play in Offense-Defense All-American Bowl

Some of the future stars of the Mid-American Conference will suit up against the nation’s best on Thursday evening.

The 2013 Mid-American Conference Championship

With the Under Armour All-American game grabbing all the headlines in most recruiting circles, it may be easy for some to forget about other events going on.

In this case, it’s the Offense-Defense All-American bowl game. I know what you’re thinking, what is this game and why are they playing it?

It’s an all-star game that gathers some of the best players from across the country in one place. This gives recruits an opportunity to play against top high school competition from across the country.

How does someone get nominated for this game?

In order to get nominated, you must attend a camp over the summer where each player is evaluated. Of the thousands that attend these camps over the summer, only 88 are chosen to play in the All-American game.

The Offense-Defense All-American game has a long history of talented players to play in their game including Cam Newton, Golden Tate, Earl Thomas, Dez Bryant, Tavon Austin, Casey Matthews, and Kelvin Benjamin among many others. For a full list, click here.
