2017 Toledo Football Recruiting: QB Caleb Martin commits to Rockets

Candle and crew land a 2017 quarterback.

After recently obtaining his scholarship offer from the Toledo coaching staff, a under-the-radar class of 2017 quarterback has decided to verbally commit to the Rockets. Earning his chance to suit up for UT on March 3rd, it only took Fort Recovery (OH) standout signal caller Caleb Martin a couple of weeks to announce his decision to take his talents to Toledo.

While Toledo might have been his only scholarship offer on the table, the 6'2, 190-pound Martin was receiving interest from a number of FBS programs, including other Mid-American Conference teams, after putting together an impressive junior campaign at Fort Recovery High. Leading his squad to an overall record of 13-2 and a state championship title, Caleb accounted for nearly 2,500 yards through the air, and 27 total touchdowns last season for the Indians.

In a recent interview with Scout.com, the Rocket pledge had the following to say on his overall game:

"I like to consider myself a pro-style quarterback." He explained. "I can run if I need to, but we don't really do that much. I like to air it out, and I think my strength is reading defenses and finding the open receiver."
