2017 Toledo Football Recruiting: DB Tycen Anderson commits to Rockets

The Rockets add a local prospect to the fold.

March has been very good to Jason Candle and the Toledo coaching staff. After picking up verbal commitments from Caleb Martin, Nick Kovacs, and Bryce Mitchell, the Rockets closed the month out by adding another 2017 pledge on Thursday afternoon.

Announcing his college plans via his Twitter page, Toledo St. John's Jesuit defensive back Tycen Anderson has decided to stay in the Glass City and play his college ball for Candle and UT.

"It's my hometown, and it's a great opportunity for my parents and family to see me play. The coaching staff has took me in and I felt welcomed from the first day I walked into UT." The 6'2, 180-pound Anderson stated to Hustle Belt soon after his commitment.

Anderson isn't the only one looking forward to his Rocket future, so is the Toledo coaching staff.

"I told Coach Ward (of my commitment). He was very excited. He said get out of here man we've been waiting on this day. This is the best Thursday ever and congrats that I made a great decision."

As a junior last season for St. John's, Anderson finished with around 30 total tackles, and five interceptions from his cornerback spot to help lead the Doug Pearson coached Titans to an overall record of 7-4.
