Mike Jinks added his first commitment on the defensive side of the ball earlier this week landing defensive back Shermond Dabney. Dabney joins 3-star quarterback Jarret Doege as the two members of Bowling Green's recruiting class thus far.
Dabney hails from West Bloomfield, Michigan and currently attends St. Mary's. He chose the Falcons over reported offers from MAC recruiting powerhouses, Miami and Western Michigan.
The 6-foot 180 pound recruit has some serious speed, reportedly running a 4.5 40-yard dash and is also rated a 2-star prospect by 247Sports. However, Dabney does not only excel on the gridiron. He is a 2x time state champion, All-State Wrestler as well as an All-State Track athlete as a junior.
Bowling Green's class may not have the same amount of recruits yet as some of their MAC counterparts, however they have received verbal commitments from two highly regarded prospects and are well on their way to another successful recruiting class despite a recent coaching change.
