Coach Bonamego is not messing around this recruiting cycle and seems hopeful to dethrone WMU at the top of the recruiting services class rankings.

On Saturday the future got that much brighter for CMU with the commitment of 3-star TE Keegan Cossou. Cossou's commitment allowed CMU to leap Miami for number two class in the MAC, and propelled them to a top 40 class nationally for now according to the 247Sports rankings.

He chose the Chippewas over reported offers from Ball State, Buffalo, Miami, Toledo, and WMU. The 6-foot-5 225 pound tight end currently attends Greenville high school located in Greenville, Michigan.

In a recent conversation with Hustle Belt, Cossou explained how the commitment went down.

"I was there for the spring game. I first broke the news officially to Coach Bonamego in his office with my family."

As a junior, Cossou caught 40 passes for 582 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also plays defensive end for Greenville, however projects as a tight end at the next level.

When asked why he chose CMU, Cossou explained some of the major factors that played into his decision.

"I chose CMU because of my relationships with the coaching staff, the way the TE are used and being closer to home was nice as well. And those are pretty much the same reasons that made me commit as well, I have had a great relationship with the recruiting coordinator tight ends coach and the head coach since last year when they were my first offer."
