Despite being known for being #FalconFast, the reigning MAC Champions also emphasize playing tough defense. In order to have an intimidating defense, one needs defensive lineman in the trenches wreaking havoc. Bowling Green hopes its newest commit, DT CJ Hunt will do just that.

Hunt announced his commitment on his Twitter page, as most recruits do nowadays.

Hunt currently resides in Avon, Indiana and is finishing up his junior year at Avon HS.

He chose the Falcons over reported offers from Miami and Buffalo. Although he may not have the long list of offers that some other recruits may boast, he still projects well at the next level. Scout ranks Hunt as the number two defensive tackle in the state of Indiana.

Shortly after his commitment, Hunt was kind enough to explain to Hustle Belt exactly why he chose Bowling Green.

"First off I love the coaching staff, it's a family like feeling [because] they've all reached out to me and my family, I love the vision coach Jinks has for the program and I want to be apart of that, and they've won two mac championships in 3 years. [Also] The defensive line coach is probably the coolest guy I've ever met. So it all ties back into...the family like atmosphere."

The 6-foot-1 275 pound defensive tackle recently competed at the Regional Opening in Chicago and was seen as one of the top uncommitted defensive tackles in attendance by Scouts' Allen Trieu. He is currently rated a 2-star recruit by 247Sports and a 3-star recruit by Scout.

Hunt is the first defensive tackle to commit to the Falcons thus far, and just the second defensive player. Up until this point, Bowling Green had mostly focused their efforts on offense with two quarterback commitments as well as a top tight end. Look for the Falcons to start recruiting defensive playmakers on top of offensive skill players to build around their two QB's.
