2017 Bowling Green Football Recruiting: 3-star TE Travis Koontz commits to the Falcons

Bowling Green just added a big-time recruit to their 2017 recruiting class.

After landing two 3-star quarterbacks early in the recruiting process, it was only a matter of time before Bowling Green found some receivers for them to throw to. In this case, they found an athletic tight end who possesses size and an innate ability to catch the ball.

By looking at his film Koontz reminds you of a wide receiver, however at 6--foot-4 240 pounds his blocking abilities aren't too shabby either.

Koontz chose the Falcons over reported offers from Akron, Cincinnati, EKU, Iowa State, Maryland, and Youngstown State.

He announced his decision on his Twitter page on Monday morning.

After his announcement, multiple people associated with Bowling Green reacted in excitement. Here are some of the best:

In a recent interview with Hustle Belt, Koontz explained why he chose Bowling Green.

"BG is a great school I love the coaching staff and I trust them a lot, [they're] going to do big things at Bowling Green and I want to be apart of that, [their] program is a perfect fit!"

As you can see it looks like trust played a big factor in his decision which explains why he chose the Falcons over a school such as Maryland which he admittedly said he "does not know much about" in an interview with our friends over at Testudo Times.

When asked about the future of Bowling Green, Koontz kept it short and sweet: "A great winning program."
