Miami continued to make news on Monday afternoon with the commitment of Althoff (IL) running back Jaylon Bester. Bester, who also runs track for his high school, has offers from Florida A&M, Jackson State, and Southeast Missouri State.

Standing at 5'8" and 156 pounds, Bester lacks the prototypical size one would expect in a RB but he more than makes up for it with his game. He had 9.6 yards per carry, 1,246 yards, and 18 touchdowns in 2015, in addition to 91 receiving yards and three scores through the air. He also shows a lot on his Hudl film (which you can view below) as he demonstrates his strength as a ball carrier as well as the speed and quickness to make people miss. The concerns for him at the next level will be his ability to pass protect and his adjustment to a new position, as he may be featured more as a slot receiver due to his size.
Bester puts Miami's class at 12 commits so far, which is rated as the sixth-best class in the MAC according to 247Sports. The class lacks wide outs so far, so look for some WR commits in the coming weeks.
