2017 Miami Football Recruiting: DL Isaac Hampton commits to RedHawks

The commitment brings Miami's 2017 class up to 13.

Just one day after receiving his first offer from Miami, Mallard Creek (NC) DL/LB Isaac Hampton committed to the RedHawks late last night. He joins a recruiting class at MU that already has four players in the front seven with David Marsh and Logan Speyer on the ends, whereas Ryan Newton and Andrew Sharp man linebacker spots.

Hampton, who stands at 6'1" and 260 lbs, shows some very good things on his highlight film (which you can see below). He does a good job of getting off of blocks and is enough of an athlete to make tackles in pursuit as well as in the backfield. He will have to bulk up and get stronger to play as a tackle in Miami's defense, but the potential ought to be exciting for RedHawk fans. Helping his team get three consecutive state titles while holding a 3.8 cumulative GPA also bodes well for him.
