Miami (OH) got a big commitment on Sunday from 3-star DE/LB Joshua Maize of Deerfield High School, in Illinois.

“The atmosphere on and off the field was unmatched. The new facilities are also unreal at any level.” Maize said.
Maize is 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds out of Deerfield High School and will bring a lot to the Miami defense. Maize had 96 total tackles, 66 solo tackles, and 3 forced fumbles. Maize was an All-State Defensive player. Maize also was a Blue Grey All-American. Maize’s team went 5-5 and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
Maize said his decision came down to 5 teams, UConn, Western Michigan, Toledo, Miami, and Central Michigan.
Back in May, Maize told Hustle Belt that Miami felt like "Miami Ohio...[seems to be] less [of a] transition from my everyday life [in] Deerfield."
Maize was a 3-star on 247 sports composite rankings, he was ranked 22nd in the state of Illinois and ranked at 47th in the WDE rankings.
