Toledo arguably had the best recruiting weekend in the Mid-American Conference picking up two 3-star recruits that chose the Rockets over multiple P5 offers. Unfortunately, this momentum did not carry over into Monday evening as 4-star RB Mike Warren announced his plans to reopen his recruitment.
Warren was named the MVP of the Offense-Defense Bowl a few weeks ago, which at the time was something that excited Toledo fans. Looking back on it, his performance may have actually hurt Toledo’s chances at maintaining Warren.
In the weeks following that game, Warren has received offers from Cincinnati, and Minnesota.
Warren, a one-time Kentucky commit, is a Toledo native and will now potentially pursue opportunities outside of the Glass City.
According to his 247Sports profile, Warren is scheduled to take an official visit to Minnesota this weekend. It will be interesting to hear how his visit goes, as he will still most likely consider Toledo and Cincinnati. It also isn’t out of the question that another program reaches out to Warren over the next few days.
Warren will announce where he will attend college on National Signing Day, stay tuned to @MAC_Crootin for the latest.
