Coach Mike Neu just added a big commitment to the 2017 Ball State class with Linebacker Shahid Reece. Reece announced his commit today (via: Twitter) Reece just received his full ride scholarship to Ball State just three days ago, and he’s been excited ever since.
“I felt comfortable with Coach Curtis, knowing he’s a New Orleans guy himself, and so is coach Neu so I know they will be able to relate with me a lot. I also know at Ball State it’s the best place for me to excel as a Student Athlete.”
Reece held offers from multiple FCS schools including Northwestern State and The Citadel. Reece said “Ball State came along, and it just felt like an opportunity of a lifetime and I just had to jump on it.”
Reece stands at 6’1 and weighs 220 pounds, and went to Archbishop Rummel, in Metairie, Louisiana. Reece had a very productive senior campaign, totalling 85 tackles, 5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.
Reece is a 3-star, 67th ranked outside linebacker, and the 43rd ranked recruit in Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Reece is the Cardinals 24th addition in the 2017 cycle.
