HALFTIME: Buffalo Leads UMass 13-3 At Halftime

After the previous three weeks, the Buffalo Bulls were expected to manhandle the UMass Minutemen, but halfway through the game they lead just 13-3.

In fact, the Bulls were scoreless through the first quarter as both teams struggled to get anything going offensively. Buffalo broke the scoreless tie five seconds into the second half on a 44-yard field goal, but still has yet to notch an offensive touchdown. The lone Buffalo TD came on an impressive 35-yard interception return by Khalil Mack. Buffalo tacked on a second field goal late in the second half.

UMass broke its scoreless drought as time expired in the first half on a 42-yard field goal by Blake Lucas, just his second of the season.

Neither offense has found success in the sloppy weather, though Brandon Oliver has rushed for 94 yards on 21 carries. Bufalo has outgianed the Minutemen 154 to 130. For UMass though, the offense took a huge blow late in the second quarter with the ejection of tight end Rob Blanchflower. He was tossed for taking a swing at a Buffalo defender who wouldn't let go of his legs after the play had been called dead.
