NIU and CMU Tied at the Half

Neither team has pulled away as the Northern Illinois Huskies are tied with the Central Michigan Chippewas 14-14. CMU's quarterback, Cooper Rush, opened the scoring with 6 minutes left in the first quarter on a 9-yard touchdown pass to Titus Davis. The Huskies countered on their next drive, going 75 yards on 11 plays - capped off with a 9-yard TD pass to Tommylee Lewis.

On the next Chippewa drive, Rush struck deep, hitting Andrew Flory for a 36-yard TD pass. But not to be outdone, Jordan Lynch ran for his first TD of the game midway through the second quarter. The Huskies had a chance to take the lead late in the half, but with less than a minute left, Lynch had a pass deflected and intercepted.

Lynch has not been effective, going 18-27 for 134 yards, but added 84 more on the ground. His rival, Rush, has gone 12-23 for 213 yards and both CMU TDs.
