Ball State Takes Down Akron 42-24

Ball State earned a convincing 42-24 victory Saturday at InfoCision Stadium, improving to 8-1 on the season.  Akron fell to 2-7.

Cardinals quarterback Keith Wenning completed 25 of 35 passes for 240 yards and 5 touchdowns.  Receiver Jordan Williams had a career day, catching 12 passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns.  Willie Snead caught 7 passes for 100 yards and 2 scores, and leading rusher Jahwan Edwards carried the ball 25 times for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Akron outgained Ball State in total yards 437-434.  Jawon Chisholm paced the Zips, running up 166 yards on 26 rushes.  Akron quarterback Kyle Pohl struggled, completing 17 of 35 passes for 211 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.  Akron turned the ball over 3 times and committed 8 penalties for 57 yards.

In the victory Wenning became the 11th quarterback in MAC history to throw for 10,000 yards.

Ball State's next game is Wednesday November 6th at home against Central Michigan.  Akron is at home again Saturday November 2nd against Kent State.
